Job description
The Head of HSE - Italy provides leadership and coordination for Health, Safety & Environment activities across multiple plants while also serving as Plant HSE Manager for a designated site.
The role ensures full compliance with HSE regulations and company standards, drives continuous improvement, and builds a strong safety culture across multiple plants.
The position supports site-based HSE operations, leads key initiatives, coordinates risk assessment and incident management, and contributes to the delivery of Regional and Italian HSE strategies.
Responsibilities for Italy
* Lead, manage, and coordinate HSE programs and initiatives across all plants
* Support and coach Plant HSE teams to ensure consistent standards, processes, and performance.
* Facilitate cross-site alignment on HSE priorities and improvement initiatives.
* Monitor HSE KPIs and performance trends, identifying risks and improvement opportunities.
* Coordinate audits, inspections, workshops, and training sessions.
* Ensure full compliance with corporate HSE guidelines and local regulatory requirements.
* Promote knowledge sharing, practices, and harmonization of HSE processes across sites.Plant Responsibilities
* Manage daily HSE activities within the assigned plant, ensuring full adherence to standards.
* Oversee incident reporting, root-cause analysis, and corrective action implementation.
* Lead risk assessments and ensure adequate controls are in place.
* Support behavioural-based safety programs and workforce engagement initiatives.
* Provide coaching, mentoring, and development for site HSE team members.
* Collaborate with internal stakeholders (Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality, HR, Supply Chain) to embed HSE into all operational processes.
* Ensure timely documentation, reporting, and follow-up of all HSE processes.
- University degree in Health, Safety, Environment or equivalent field.
- At least 5 years of experience as an HSE professional, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong experience in change management and project management.
- 6-Sigma, Lean approach
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Experience in conducting audits and managing regulatory compliance.
- Ability to work effectively with diverse cultures and across multiple sites.
- Availability and willingness to travel.
