We are seeking a Director of Banqueting to lead our Banqueting and Conference operations, ensuring exceptional service, operational excellence, and a memorable experience for our guests, members, and event clients. In this role, you will report directly to the Operations Manager and oversee a dedicated team comprising the Banqueting Manager and the Maîtres d' team, ensuring seamless coordination, professional development, and the delivery of elevated service across all events. What will you be doing? As Director of Banqueting, you will oversee all aspects of banquets, conferences, and events, driving excellence, innovation, and revenue growth. Your responsibilities will include: Strategic Leadership & Operations * Manage all banquets, conferences, weddings, and private events with precision and excellence. * Proactively enhance the guest and member experience, elevating service standards and the overall banqueting performance. * Collaborate closely with the Commercial team, Event Planners, and DMCs to create seamless partnerships and lasting client relationships. * Develop, implement, and uphold Banqueting Service Standards & Maître d' Excellence Guidelines, ensuring meticulous attention to detail, professionalism, and ceremonial service. * Conduct routine inspections and enforce a proactive maintenance schedule for all banqueting equipment and spaces. * Identify opportunities to expand and enhance conference and banqueting offerings. * Analyze performance metrics and implement continuous improvement strategies. * Manage contracted suppliers, ensuring effective contract control, performance oversight, and alignment with operational standards. Team Leadership & Development * Recruit, train, and mentor an exceptional Banqueting team, including Maîtres d' and service staff. * Ensure staffing levels meet demand, with ongoing training to maintain excellence. * Oversee staff performance, providing coaching, feedback, and performance management in line with company policies. * Lead by example, maintaining a visible, approachable presence during all events. Service Excellence & Guest Experience * Ensure one to two Maîtres d' are present at all events and pre-conference meetings, guaranteeing flawless internal communication and service execution. * Uphold ceremonial and elevated service for weddings, gala dinners, and VIP events, including personalized greetings and attentive guest engagement. * Oversee the accurate preparation and execution of Banquet Event Orders (BEOs), consumption tracking, and client billing. * Maintain structured post-event reporting and communication with event planners via digital platforms. Reporting directly to the F&D Manager, this strategic role has transversal scope across all hotel venues and is designed to elevate, standardize and innovate the beverage experience, positioning drinks as a stronger pillar of the hotel's identity and guest journey. The position combines operational leadership, beverage expertise, guest experience, commercial oversight, and creative programming. The successful candidate will act as custodian of beverage standards across the hotel, curating a holistic drinks identity spanning cocktails, spirits, coffee, tea and supporting the wider wine experience. Key Responsibilities Operational Leadership & Beverage Standards * Lead and standardize the beverage experience across all hotel venues, including Tiepolo Lounge and terrace, Uliveto restaurant, Pool Bar, Patio, Spa, Imperial Club and Room Service. * Ensure excellence, consistency and innovation in beverage service standards, rituals and presentation. * Support venues teams in embedding a cohesive beverage philosophy across the property. Commercial & Financial Responsibilities * Oversee beverage inventory strategy and support control of beverage cost in close collaboration with Finance. * Support pricing strategy, menu engineering and supplier relationships to drive profitability while maintaining quality.
