For the Malta site, we are currently looking for Automation Technicians
Responsibilities
Automation Technicians work within the Automation Department specializing in the PM servicing, calibration and any repairs of automation systems such as ARV and Material Stockers. Activities will also include supporting replacement and installation of new such systems.
The
job holder will be responsible for technical maintenance of assigned equipment
to keep high Overall Equipment Efficiency (OEE) and for the preventive
maintenance (PM) and upkeep of such systems.
He/she shall work on a 4-shift pattern, consisting of Day (06:00 till 18:00), Night (18:00 till 06:00), Rest, and Off, including weekends and public holidays.
The responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- To focus on PM Servicing and Calibration of Automation-related systems.
- To assist in generating PM and Calibration Reports and PM Plannings.
- To take full ownership of any repair (including major activities).
- To lead the repair/troubleshoot of the Automation Equipment (Stocker/ARV) on a daily basis.
- To generate Downtime Repair Report and assessment of the machine prior release to production.
- To communicate and active interaction with the Equipment/Automation Maintenance Engineer any project to launch, or any New Machine installation on schedule.
- To participate Continuous Improvement Plan which involve OEE/OEU of the equipment.
- To provide or generate reports for abnormalities encountered, to be mailed to the Equipment/Automation Engineering team for study and evaluation.
- Maintain 5S in all areas, including workshops and machine parking bays, machine guards, wiring and piping.
- Maintain EMCS terminal and barcode readers.
- Assist in any modifications and retrofits to the system.
- Follow up on QA activities.
- Line coverage if the need arises.
- Maintain critical spare parts levels.
- Other duties related to Automation systems.
Your Profile
The ideal candidate shall:
- Possess an MQF level 4 qualification in a Technical/Engineering related field or comparable certification with 3 years' experience in a similar role.
- Preferably be knowledgeable in mechatronics and robotics.
- Be computer literate.
- Have good troubleshooting skills.
- Have a good understanding of Safe Working and 5S practices.
- Be able to use Mobile devices for work related tasks (intervention documentation, RTP).
- Possess good communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Have a good command of the English Language.
- Be responsible and mature.
- Be smart and goal oriented.
- Be flexible, adaptable to the needs and be able to take decisions following continuous inputs
- Be disciplined, motivated and willing to work in a team.
- Be able to work with minimal supervision and under own initiative.
- Preferably be knowledgeable of electronics industry manufacturing equipment
